This study pursues a twofold objective: on the one hand, a broader discussion on contemporary expanded scenography and the technological-digital turn in the performing arts—with a specific focus on the field of scenography, highlighting its primary transformations and core performative stakes; on the other hand, the presentation of an innovative artwork created through technological means. Specializing this discussion through a characteristic case study, it examines the recent performance Traces of Antigone, directed by Elli Papakonstantinou, which was based on the text Traces of Antigone by the well-known Greek-Swedish playwright Christina Ouzounidis.
