Elli Papakonstantinou's performance is, in a sense, one of those ecstatic moments. It is a multimedia event in which images, bodies, sounds, and music converge in a seemingly decadent finale. Exaggeration, media abundance, and grand gestures are the theatrical means by which gender is simultaneously liquefied, exhibited, and questioned. The performative and technical media are combined into an impressive sequence of scenes.
The text, which is primarily in English, but also in French and Greek, follows the mythical narrative yet remains firmly rooted in the present, addressing topics such as refugees and climate change. However, it sometimes struggles to assert itself against the abundance of aesthetic devices employed.
